Alija led a human-centered design process by engaging domain experts across the early childhood education sector in New Mexico from nonprofits, policy think tanks, and Head Start officials to inform the design of the mobile application.

By using data science and machine learning engineering, a map was integrated into the application to visualize communities underserved by early childhood education centers.

The award-winning mobile app was inclusive of resources to support enrollment in Head Start, advocate for early childhood centers to be located in underserved neighborhoods, and bolster early childhood workforce development.
